NEWFEED Hosts Informative Meeting with Greek Dairy & Feed Industry on Case Study 2
As part of the ongoing efforts of the European project NEWFEED, an informative online meeting was recently held with Mr. Nestoratos from the company EUROTROFES, a subsidiary of the Greek dairy company DELTA, along with the team from DELTA’s milk production zone. This event aimed to present the latest developments in sustainable feed alternatives and circular economy strategies within the dairy and feed industry.
Objective of the Meeting
The primary goal of the session was to introduce NEWFEED project, conclude in June 2025, to Greek stakeholders. Throughout its implementation, the project has focused on the development and adoption of alternative animal feeds by transforming food industry by-products into high-value secondary feed ingredients using a circular economy approach.
Presentation of Case Study 2: Valorization of Juice Industry By-Products
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the presentation of Case Study 2, which was conducted in Greece. This case study explored the utilization of orange peels—a by-product of the juice production industry—to develop enhanced feed components for ruminants, specifically sheep.
