NewFeed Project Showcased as a Model of Innovation in Sustainable Agrifood at Food 4 Future Summit
On April 16th, David San Marin, the coordinator of the EU project NewFeed, participated in the “Food 4 Future – Bilbao Foodtech World Summit” in Bilbao, Spain. He took part in a panel discussion titled “360° Sustainability: Innovation, Collaboration, and Efficiency,” where he highlighted the importance of sustainability in the agrifood sector.
During the session, he presented NewFeed project as an innovative initiative in the valorization of food waste (grape stems, orange peels and olive cake) as a new ingredient for animal feed. He emphasized the project’s role in addressing the challenges of food industry bio-products and their reusability.
The NewFeed project aims to revolutionize the way food waste is managed, in the Mediterranean area, by turning it into valuable resources for animal feed production. By utilizing innovative techniques, the project contributes to the circular economy and reduces environmental impact.
The session was attended by representatives of the food industry and public authorities, who showed great interest in the NewFeed project and its potential to drive sustainability in the agrifood sector.
David San Marin’s participation in the panel discussion underscored NewFeed’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and efficiency in promoting sustainable practices within the food industry. The project serves as a model for addressing key challenges while creating economic and environmental benefits.
